CEO Patrick Vel, Chief Executive Officer of the Seychelles Public Transport Corporation (SPTC) will be retiring from public service at the end of this December after a long, successful career in leadership positions spanning various public enterprises.
In a short ceremony today, Thursday 22nd December, Minister Anthony Derjacques took the opportunity to express his gratitude in the presence of the Principal Secretaries for the Ministry of Transport, PS Alain Renaud and PS Patrick Andre, SPTC Board members; Chairman Andy Moncherry, Mrs Cecily Derjacques, Mr Alain Kilindo, and Chief Operations Officer for SPTC (COO), Mr Geffy Zialor.
CEO Vel was appointed as CEO of SPTC in 2016 and retires after six years of leading the company. Minister Derjacques led the commendations for Mr Vel, thanking him for his length of service and the various successful projects that was implemented during his tenure. “CEO Vel still has a lot to offer and while we wish him well for the next chapter of his life, I am sure that we can still harness his expertise and experience in other forums”.
Chairman Andy Moncherry also took the opportunity to congratulate Mr Vel for his leadership and expressed his gratitude for Mr Vel’s ability to inculcate a conducive environment with the SPTC Board and ensure smooth operations between them. His sentiment was echoed by the members of the SPTC Board present before COO Zialor also thanked Me Vel on behalf of SPTC Executives and staff.
Minister Anthony issued Mr Vel with a token of appreciation for his service.
